Michael Kors to Open European Distribution Center in the Netherlands
The facility will support the company’s European operations and be the largest of its kind in Venlo
Michael Kors, the global, luxury fashion brand, announced that next month it will begin construction of its 1,000,000-square foot European Distribution Center (EDC) in Trade Port North in Venlo, Netherlands. As Michael Kors is expected to grow over the next 10 years, the facility will create approximately 400 jobs.
The facility will be the largest of its kind in Venlo and will support all of the brand’s European and Middle Eastern retail, wholesale and, eventually, e-commerce needs. Michael Kors’ EDC will also be a green building with a host of environmentally friendly features, designed by prominent Dutch firm DENC.
“The construction of a new, innovative distribution center is an important and exciting step in the evolution of Michael Kors,” said John D. Idol, Chairman and CEO of the company, in a press release. “The scale and sophistication of the facility reflect our commitment to substantial growth across all channels of distribution in both Europe and the Middle East.”
